Life is short, so we have to make the most of it. Although this phrase is a screenplay cliché (thanks RT), it is without any doubts, true. Everybody has a Must See or Do list. In my case, I've always wanted to plan and do a road trip. It's just something Pop Culture (specially movies) puts on your mind. Of course, must of the things you see in movies don't happen in real life (specially the genre of RomCom, though Charlie Kaufman has given us something different and real), but a road trip is indeed possible.
I found someone willing to do it this summer (you know who you are!). We will renting a car and travelling around the south of France and the North of Spain. I love being in Europe, and specially in France, so I'm excited about this. Eventually, I'll be putting some maps and links for documenting this trip.
As in Elizabethtown (guilty pleasure...), where Claire makes a road trip CD to Drew, I want mine, on my ipod. That's where you people can help. Voilà! you're welcome to suggest new stuff. Here some of the things I like:
* Everything of Vampire Weekend, Black Kids, Friendly Fires, The YYY, Coldplay, The Killers, Phoenix, MGMT, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Metric, Arctic Monkeys, Garbage, Kasabian, Bloc Party (essentially Silent Alarm), Lily Allen, The Shins, Santigold, White Lies
* Some of Belle & Sebastian, Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem, The Kooks, Gorillaz.
* Oldies: Blondie, Billy Idol, Bob Dylan, New Order, Joy Division, The Velvet Underground
* OST are a great source of inspiration: Juno, Kill Bill, Trainspotting, Garden State, Funny People, Good Morning England, Dirty Dancing
I'll be updating this list...
This is a multilingual blog (English, French and Spanish so far), which is not bad at all, I manage to cover most of the world population. Writing in English is good for my PhD, so that's why I chose it. You're welcome to comment on anything in one of those three languages.
Cheers!

Thanks Rikless, I'll think about it. I'm on my first year, so probably I won't have time afterwards. Otherwise, I'll be glad to join you :)
